Last Monday the guys from Home Depot came out to put in new tile counters. They were inexperienced and in no way problem solvers. They kept asking me questions that I think they should have known the answers to and over all didn't instill much confidence. So a 2 1/2 day job turned into a 4 day job and they kept saying they couldn't put the sink back in even though our landlord had paid extra to have the sink re-installled.
Friday, our landlord came over to put the new faucet on and re-install the sink. He then discovers that something seems to be broken. So he calls in a plumber. Saturday I wake up with the stomach flu, the pumber shows up and says that we need a new garbage disposal (the Home Depot guys managed to break ours) and that the instant hot water is completely ruined(also by Home Depot). He also says that by Oregon law he has to give 24 hours notice to our neighbors when turning off the water main so he can come back on Tuesday to finish the job.
Luckily I am feeling much better on Sunday, DL makes dinner in the Crockpot and washes the dishes in the bathtub. Monday we give notice to the neighbors. Tuesday a different plumber comes back and installs the sink, puts in a new disposal and fixes our instant hot water!
I ran 3 loads in the dishwasher and made dinner last night!
All is right in the world again.

Hooray for the real plumbers of the world. death to home depot wanna-be's. i'm so happy for you. the dishwashing in the tub has cemented a very unfortunate image in my mind.
thanks for enlightening us! I had some friends in the OP that would wash dishes in the tub because they waited until there were too many to wash in the sink. I hope I never have to live without a dishwasher again.
wow... I would have been super annoyed with the home depot guys too. I can't stand when people don't know how to do their jobs.
