On Christmas Day in the Morning (and evening)

Christmas morning the kids slept in until after 8! I finally had to wake Henry up because Calvin was tired of being confined to our bedroom.
Joyful shouts were heard when Henry saw the Star Wars Snowspeeder that Santa left for him and Calvin discovered his new Target Metro Kitchen and shopping cart.
A good time was had by all. Presents were opened, it always seems like there are so many more than you originally thought.
DL scored a lovely new t-shirt. (I wonder who got him that?) Also some tools, cuff links watch, etc. I received a new all-in-one printer taht I still need to figure out how to use and very cool clothes and shoes. A wonderful morning. The kids were totally into it and it took a long time to get through everything. It made for a leisurely morning.
After we finished up Henry started in with "When are we leaving to go see cousins?"
After trying to tell him we wouldn't leave until the next morning we gave up, loaded up and left that afternoon for California. We had our lovely Christmas dinner in Eugene at Denny's. It only took an hour to get our food. They were one of two restaurants open that day. Let's just say that the seasoned fries were surprisingly worth the wait. We also got to sit by a completely crazy man that kept giving me parenting advice and generally talking to himself quite loudly.
It rained from the time we left home until we drove into Ashland and found a motel. But the kids slept well and we felt ready for the next day...

It always seems like much more than you thought you'd gotten - one year Dad made me put some of the gifts away for later - he said it was "too much!"

Even now - and I mostly give magazine subscriptions and gift cards and the like - I think, do I need to go get some more gifts??

Thanks Denae! I bought them at the Chilldren's Place outlet in Park City. They also had them in blue and red stripes and I am kicking myself for not buying those, too.
