In my efforts to create some space here for the new baby and for our family in general, I have been cleaning out the closet in the toy room. I found some great treasures in my emtying of boxes. More specifically, a box of stuff my mom brought up a while ago. Mostly pictures and random newpaper clippings from my childhood. In the box was a book I made in 5th grade. Each member of the class was to write about another member of our class.
This is what Katrina wrote about me...
Phoebe is like a puppy. She is always excited and friendly. She is very good at sharing her ideas with others. I like her short brownish blonde hair. She is very dependable with everything. I really like her funny jokes. Phoebe is always up and ready to do things. She is very smart and just loves to read. If she takes a sort of short book home, she brings it back finished the next day. She likes to encourage people to do things. She is a good handball player. Although she talks a lot, she always seems to get her work finished. If someone gets hurt, Phoebe is always worried if he or she is alright. She could probably get along with everybody except boys.
This is what I worte about my classmate Lori...
I think Lori is a very pretty name. I really like that name. I mean I only know so many Lori's. I really think that name is nice.
I also like how fun it is to be with you are, I mean you have really good ideas. You are also original.
I also like your eyes. They are very pretty. There are not very many people with pretty green eyes.
It is easy to see who the superior student was here. Katrina went on to be the top of our graduating class. I went on to be, well, Phoebe.

Hahaha! Those are great! Is "Katrina" Katie K.?
Katie is indeed the better writer when comparing these two passages, but everything she said about you is true!
And being Phoebe is no small feat - you do a wonderful job of being Phoebe! (And aren't we glad??)
I really like this post, and I must say I have always really liked Phoebe!
OK my favorite is the first para. "I really like that name. I mean I only know so many Lori's." So great. I am laughing over here and loving this post.
Also, I like Katie's "She could probably get along with everybody except boys."
(Who wants to be the top of the class anyway)
Also, I agree that everything is true, and also I enjoy the "sort of short book" line, and also I like the fact that you thought Lori had "really good ideas."
Sorry. Basically I like it all.
I am glad that no one has agreed with the "Phoebe is like a puppy" line.
Kellyry, that is definitely Katie K.
And in my defense, Lori was very original. All the way from grade school through high school. I wish I could go into more detail for you.
You beat me! I was going to say that Phoebe has always reminded me of a puppy. Especially the long ears part.
(haha)
Those little paragraphs are so cute! I have only a few writing from when I was young but isn't it so fun to look back?? Share more if you have them, those were funny!
It's so hysterical that this little girl could sum up your demeanor and personality so well in 5th grade. I mean, you do have more complexity than that paragraph, but she was spot on~ (except the puppy, unless she's referring to your excitement and curiosity for life).
I also love the "just know so many lori's part." I wish you had been in my 5th grade class!
Those are hilarious. Thanks for sharing.
