A special thank you to Bonny for being the keeper of family heirlooms. The dress was made by our great-grandmother for Bonny's blessing. I wore it when I was blessed, as well as all of the Terrill granddaughters.
We love tradition.

Is that dress crocheted? Lovely! And even more lovely is the baby wearing it!
Hannah and Eliza didn't wear it because my mother discovered the dress that my grandmother had made for me and my sisters to wear. She discovered it about the time Eliza was born. So we have two very lovely heirloom dresses - and most of the Clayton granddaughters have worn the older one - except for Betsy and her girls because Grandma Stevens made one for her too - after that, she couldn't see well enough to do that tiny kind of crochet.
Just to set the record straight. Both dresses are beautiful. And if my mom had found the one I wore sooner, Grandma Stevens might not have made the second one!
Sometimes it's okay not to find things for a while!
Correction: Grandma Stevens made one for me (Alice) and all of my girls wore that one except Madeleine (who wore the one the I was blessed in, partly because Maddy was born on my birthday). Betsy and Erika's girls have been blessed in the one that Grandma made for me (not the one that I was blessed in. I, too, love tradition and Betsy is the keeper of the dress (I think). I am so far away that sometimes details like that escape me. In any event, Agnes Mae is a beautiful baby and looked very sweet in all of her finery.
We have a dress that has been passed down too and I love it. Both Lexi and Macey were blessed in it. Agnes looks so sweet. Baby blessings are one of my favorite things.
Her dress reminds me of mine that Rosie wore as well. She looks super sweet! Wish I could have been there.
