Diagnosis X

I went to see the infamous Dr. L yesterday and she happily pronounced me free of Lupus or any other Autoimmune Disease.
My new skin care routine consists of washing my face with water and moisturizing with Vaseline?
Think of the money I'll be saving on face products!

By X you mean unknown?

Sounds like a "contact" issue - it happened once to me when I used an apricot facial mask - but I only swelled up for a day and it was gone the next day.

Glad it's gone!!

Vaseline?? Maybe you'll need to sleep with terry cloth pillows!

Glad it was so easily remedied. Good luck with the new routine. Agnes is a doll. She reminds of the identicle twins across the street.

Reminds me of the girl who don't use butter, she don't use cheese, she don't use jelly or any of these, she uses Va-a-a-seline.

And--true about the pillows. Maybe you can wear a ski mask at night, you know like how people put Vaseline on their hands and wear gloves or feet and wear socks.

GASP!
Petroleum products are TERRIBLE for your skin!!! Vaseline? Are you serious?

I hope this is a temporary thing...
By the way, you're lookin' good, babe!

Cetaphil is what I was using before I broke out in the rash. She said that I can re-introduce it in a month or so, but I am thinking maybe tomorrow is long enough to wait.

As weird as it sounds, I have to say that I had an uncle . . . my weird uncle, to boot . . . who used Vaseline on his face and hands every night religiously. This went on for many years, as he lived to be quite old. His weird face and weird hands had weirdly beautiful skin, very youthful and soft. You could do worse, although I understand the aversion to the stuff. My husband put some in his hair one Halloween and it took days of shampooing to get all of it out. Good luck! You can even get that stuff at a dollar store!

Agh, are have had Vaseline experiences as well (in the hair). I have had quite a bit of experience w/ Vaseline, granted my kids are black and their skin and hair is a little bit different. My youngest daughter has TERRIBLE excema and contact reactions to everything..... if you can imagine her beautiful brown skin looking as red as yours was you are on the right track. WeWe have used every product on earth and it was finally Vaseline (on the rec of a dermatologist) that worked. It also keeps her hair really soft (better than the really expensive stuff). There is a product called Aquaphor that is similar, but can't even use that... so for what it is worth, you might try it and see. Usually pretrolium products ARE not the first choice...

As for the grease factor. I feel your pain (we have a lot of this in our house but mostly from the hair). I just bought cheap pillow cases and expect them to get grease spots on them. That or sleep with a ski mask on ;-)

P.S. Your skin looks GREAT.... lucky.

Vaseline is a beauty product I can't live without. I swear it wards off wrinkles, and I have Julia Roberts on my side on that one!

I would think it wouldn't be good to be in the sun much with Vaseline on your face. It seems like sort of an anti-sunscreen.
