I have to admit, I was worried about first grade.
First graders think they are pretty hot stuff. What with staying at school all day,
2 recesses, bringing a lunch, and taking the bus.
So I thought that Henry might lose some of his "henry-ness".
I wondered if he would start to think that maybe a light saber isn't considered an accessory. Or that he would think that the 4 year old neighbor kid isn't cool, even though he is TOTALLY cool. Or that the imaginary play would come to a complete halt. Or, horror of horrors, that he would start begging us for an XBox or a Wii.
I know that the time will come when he will grow up and grow out of this
great phase of childhood.
The one that asks, first thing off the bus, if he can put on his cowboy shirt
and go play outside.

My heroes have always been cowboys . . . .
All my kids, even Toby and Aspen who are 12 and 10, still play dress up, despite asking for a Wii. They really never grow out of the things they love.
That top photo is so cute. What a little stud. And a cool one in his own right. But not too cool, of course.
He is SO cute! You know what? I like his confidence!! Tanner still digs his tiny tiny cars pajamas and they are like hot pants now. I like that he'll stay young. So, enjoy this time!
Why can't he wear that cute outfit to school? First graders are probably too mean. Darn. There's nothing like a man in turquoise.
I love cowboys too!
so cute.
Henry is such a great kid! I love having him in my class!!!
