Might I recommend a baby product?
I LOVE hook-on High Chairs. I feel they are superior, especially in our small space situation. Not to mention the great portability.
The baby is part of the family sitting right up to the table with everyone else.
Now that I have expressed my love to the general hook-on high chair, I must profess my love to this particular high chair. It is made by Phil and Ted. I looked at the other options, I almost bought the Chicco again (we had one that Calvin completely wore out. Never buy denim for food use, lesson learned.) Then I called my neighbor, owner of a consignment store. She had one chair in stock and brought it home. At first I was skeptical. It looked too small. I thought it might not be sturdy. I was wrong. The small arms might look deceptively unstable. Let me tell you, nothing is going to knock this chair off of the table. The smaller, shorter arms allow it to hook on ANYWHERE. Other hook-ons have longer arms that don't always fit onto a table or counter. This one has worked on every table I have tried it on.
So if you are in the market for a highchair, or of you are looking for a great shower gift, rest-assured, this one has my seal of approval.

I've gone through several hook on high chairs - for my own kids and my grandkids and I love them too.
I also like them and planned to get one. Unfortunately the table I use the most, in the kitchen, is a small 2-seater, not sturdy enough to hold a hook-on. We only use the dining room table once or twice a week. Someday when I have a sturdy table that I use every day, I will probably get one. I will keep your P&T recommendation in mind.
I actually own two high chairs and a booster. They have come in handy many a time since most of my friends have babies and we get together a lot during the day (one of the joys of having just one kid I suppose). Also nice when we have dinner guests with small children. But they are not exactly easy to store in closets. So they just take up room.
We have the same hook on high chair and LOVE it.
Since you're on reviews, I asked Kelly to clear up a mystery for me that she said I should ask you about instead: pray tell, what exactly is so 'magic' about the magic bullet?
A friend gave me a knock-off version for Christmas and I just can't see why it's so handy. Why is it better than the blender I already own? And why do I need 6 cups and all these different lids with holes in them and such?
I am a big fan of contraptions that genuinely make life easier, but also need avoid stuff that will just take up space in my cupboards. (Especially now that we are downsizing space-wise to our new place in Portland.)
I eagerly await your feedback.
I so agree. I love having the baby right up to the table with everyone else, it is so cute. And Agnes looks so cute in hers!
I loved mine too. Even though hazel has outgrown it, I'm keeping it. We end up having lots of little babies over and it is nice to have them join us at the table.
i wiah I would have gotten one of these! Agnes is over the top adorable too!
That is great...I'll have to look for one...I love that the whole family is together at the table. Also.... I wanted to ask if you make the bows for Agnes?? Where do you get such cute head bands?? I love the look and want to have some for our little one. I'm so excited to have a girl.... :)
Good idea. I thought about these last time and ended up buying a big, clumsy chair. We will do this next time since I donated my last one after I scraped off all the dried squash. I too am wondering about the magic bullet. I have thought about it, but wasn't sure if I already had what I needed in my own kitchen.
Phoebe - found your blog through a long complicated way - but found it and realized that I know you from a married BYU ward. Anyways, we were looking at this and I worry about it with my older kids. They are not going to knock her off? Do you put the food right onto the table? I'm sure my girl would knock a plate right onto the floor. I do not like bulky, hard to clean high chairs and am hoping to use this, but I'm a little cautious.

Hi Laurel! There really is no way that your kids could knock it off the table, unless they actually unscrewed the clamps underneath. And Agnes does knock thung onto teh floor, but she does that in a High Chair, too. She's not really old enough to have a plate by herself, anyway. So I either feed her out of a bowl or put the food right on the table. I really do love this chiar. We took it to a restaurant last night and it was so convenient.
b. and Katie,
I don't have much experience with the Magic Bullet. I have one friend who loves it. But I always say, if you don't use it, get rid of it.
