For Veteran's day we decided to go and celebrate at Ikea, along with thousands of others who also though this was an appropriate way to remember those who serve our country. Right? Please tell me I am right! I appreciated my mom's post (click here) on Veteran's day. It was nice to actually think about the meaning behind this random day off in the middle of November. I also think we should go back to calling it Armistice Day. It just has such a nice ring to it!
Since we didn't have any other related festivities planned we decided it would be okay to meet up with Sabby and her baby Kaleb. Although he isn't really a baby anymore, he's almost as large as Agnes, but he's definitely a toddler. I would post pictures to prove my point, but I don't have any. You see, I remembered to bring my camera so that I could taunt all if the other Treehouse Girls (college roommates) about the thrilling fact that Sabby and I actually live in the same metropolitan area and that we get to see each other regularly! I have a feeling that I was being punished for my pride and my desire to taunt others because as soon as I got my camera out the battery died. So you will just have to take my word for it. Sabby is still awesome, my kids love Kaleb and Ikea is super crowded on Veteran's day.
And you get bonus pictures of Sabby and I during our college days, since I don't have any of yesterday.

And what a lovely group of co-eds you are - veterans of a different sort, I guess you could say!
I avoided the mall - needed to return a dress to Coldwater Creek - could have returned it there - mailed it in instead. I hate crowded malls on holidays.
But if you need to meet friends, come up with something for your kids to do, and maybe snare a bargain in the mix, you certainly can't beat IKEA!!
And if we ever get an armistice going with our current crop of foes, maybe we will call it that again!
Lookin' good in 1995. All of you.
I didn't read your mom's post so I don't know she addressed this or not, but did you know it's not random at all. Celebrations or memorials are typically held at 11 a.m. because of the significance of the ending of WWI at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. Pretty cool I think :)
well, another reminded of why I never married in college:) The rest of you girls look great as usual! Phoebe, great pictures. I don't know if I even took pictures during those pre mission years.
Never fear, Robyn! I have plenty of pictures of you in your pre-mission years. I'll start scanning them in:)
Trust you to celebrate with a little shopping, you are my kind of girl! LOVED the "vintage pics" very fun! I have to say I am not feeling the french fry pie thing, it makes my stomach hurt looking at it!
Oh Robby is right those pics do not show me at my best! But they were some great times, Ahh the Treehouse!
It has been a blast hanging out with Phoebe and fam since living here, I mean really who doesn't love hanging out with them? And Ikea, good times! Thanks for the memorable day!
Oh and one of these days we will get a picture of the whole lot of us!
