"I prefer to think JD Salinger has just decided to become extra reclusive."-Humorist John Hodgman

Kind of sad (but inevitable) news about Salinger's death at age 91. Sadder that he lived such a reclusive, negative life.
I must go and start re-reading my favorites now.

I read his daughter's bio of him a few years ago - and have been seeing him in a different light ever since.

I'm not pleased that he was apparently so mean to those who loved him.

But maybe I'm not surprised.

But I still love CITR!!

I learned that he chose to live a reclusive life because he didn't want to be a "phony" like he spoke against in "Catcher in the Rye". But it is still sad, I agree. Happy Reading!
