G. Babs was here

You can always tell when my mother has been here.
This time I documented the evidence.
Changing stations located conveniently around the house.
Laundry ALWAYS caught up and put away. I think my hampers were empty every single day that she was here. They aren't empty anymore, but we are managing:)
Flowers throughout the house.
Aprons being made. I think she made 5 or 6 while she was here.
Dinner on the table. And when my mom makes dinner she truly believes in side dishes. We had multiple options of fruit, veggies and bread at every meal. Yummy!
A couple of new, embellished hand towels made by Granny Babs. I love that she can translate my visions into something real.
I wish I could keep on having babies just so my mom could come for a nice long visit. I guess I'll just have to start making up excuses for her to be here, but I doubt I'll get another 2 1/2 week stay out of it!
I am lucky to have such a capable mother who is happy to come and help out. My kids loved being with her every day and David and I loved all of the help and funny conversation. (I'll have to share some of her house organization tips one day! They had all of us in tears laughing about them.) One of the great parts about being home with her every day was hearing stories about her childhood and years as a young mother. There were many stories that I had never heard and it gave me a lot of perspective on my own experiences as a mother. I appreciate her example of service and I hope I have inherited some of her work ethic.
Now I must go back and sit on the couch and what old episodes of What Not to Wear. Just doing my part by following my mom's orders to take it easy! I'll get to the service and strong work ethic later.

I'm plenty busy - had the Little Women yesterday and Annika is here for her Grandma's Sleepover, so we had to shop!!

But I miss my Oregon contingent - laundry and all!

WHAT A MOM. You are very blessed, indeed, Phoebs!

(As a fortunate recipient of one of your moms' adorable aprons, I'm glad her kindness extends beyond familial boundaries!)

Please share her household organizational tips soon. It's an awesome thing to have the benefit of well-rounded experience and wisdom.

What fun!
I just noticed that my couches are almost the same color as yours, which I don't see too often. I love having so much color in my living room!

I love Babs. She's the best! I also love those towels in your bathroom, especially the rufflesqe apple one. It looks easy, is it?

And seriously, you guys make some of the cutest kids I've seen. Keep up the good work!

It is easy Keli - a strip of fabric that you've pinked, gather down the middle lengthwise, and then stitch to the towel.

Phoebe has great confidence in my ability to make things. Sometimes her confidence is warranted. Sometimes it's not - but then, she doesn't blog about those times!!

Your mom is AMAZING! I want to be like her, too. You have both inspired me :)
