The computer died, so as a result I have been taking a much needed break from the inter-webs. I have found that, for the most part, I can function without a computer. Imagine that! I only lived without one for the first 22 years of my life! I can access email on my phone, David is often willing to look things up for me at work (although I think he may start to avoid my phone calls soon:) and I can always bug my neighbors if I really need something.
I learned that I am better making a table using a ruler and notebook paper than I am in Word anyway, despite the ridicule I may have faced at the pre-school when I handed it over. Preparing my Relief Society lesson was a bit strange when I had to look things up in books and magazines instead of heading right over to lds.org, but I think it was good for me to brush off those "ancient" skills. An added perk of no internet has been no internet shopping during a few of the big online sales this month. Money in my pocket!
So if you are all wondering about my absence on the World Wide Web, rest assured, I am still alive and well. And if you happen to need a table or graph made, I'd be happy to help you out!

you know that lds.org has a great iphone app, right? plus all the other internet you can access on the phone?
I did use the lds.org app, but there is something completely inconvenient about searching the Internet on the iPhone. Unless I am looking for directions or a phone number, I'll wait until I have "real" computer access to surf.
I am actually very poor at using Word also - I have become far too dependent on Dad and Beth, my instructional aide!
i feel your pain. we have had our internet and land lines down for a few days.
it's been awesome
I know that it is often easier for me to have a forced break, than to do it on my own. Even when I really want to, I just get caught up in it all.
I had decided to not spend time on the computer on Sunday, not even turn it on(because once it is on the internet is right there, and it is so easy for me to get lost reading blogs). But then, I have to write Melissa an email by Sunday night, so she will get it Monday morning. If I wait until monday she won't get it until the next week. Almost every week I forget to write until Sunday night.
Enjoy the break.
Loved the card. Thank you.
