Have you ever been sucked into the internet so far down that you are not sure you can make it back to civilization? For the past several days I have been frantically searching the web for a place to live, things to do when we get there, where to order packing stuff (because this move I am making easier on myself and I am ordering those wardrobe boxes and dish packers, dangit!), moving trucks, blogging, and, oh yeah, I guess I should pay the bills sometime, too.
This afternoon I the room finally began to spin. Henry was begging me to play a game with him while Calvin napped. So I walked away. I left the office and walked away from the computer.
Henry and I spent some quality time together. We played checkers, complete with random made up rules. Then we perused the new issue of Ladybug Magazine (thanks Granny Babs) while I cleaned out the magazine rack. Then, once Henry was involved in a project that involved cutting out small birds (from aforementioned Ladybug Magazine) I got in the tub. Insane as this idea was, since it is 106 degrees outside, I enjoyed my warm bath while I perused the Ikea catalog and blasted the A/C. Bliss!
Calvin woke up right after I got outr of the tub, I cut the boys hair. Calvin actually looks like a little boy now, instead of a muppet. I am now ready to face the mess of the house, maybe. We are cleaning the bathroom and then getting ready for our yard sale that will be starting at 7:30 tomorrow a.m.
I just have to keep reminding myself that the Internet will be there tomorrow and eventually we will find the perfect place to live.

You should try upack.com. It's the ABF moving website. We used them when we moved from Illinois to Washington and it cost $1,000 less than driving the truck ourselves! Come visit us in Seattle...we're just a couple of hours away. By the way, Beaverton is a good area so I have heard. Try looking for an apartment there.

I am so excited about all of the friends and family that will be close to us in the Pacific Northwest.
I have heard about upack.com. I'll check it out. Thanks Pete!
Did you read Bruce's post about staying with Jinny while you look for a spot?
Also I heard from Sarah N. and she is excited to get with you and Hannah!!
Hey Peter - where have you been?
ANd Phobeb I agree - I get sucked into the vortex that is the web.
I blame it onthe fact that I live out in the sticks.
But it's because I LOVE it.
I've been busy getting A+'s in law school.

when i start losing my sight, i know that i've been staring too long, not blinking enough, and i better get the heck out of the office and face reality.
this morning's yard sale still is making me laugh. the romanian who wanted the hem-stitched table cloth for a nickel! i throw nickels away! and she was bugged that you wouldn't take a dime, or a quarter. (i'll leave the rest of the gory details so you can blog about them.)
I get sucked in everyday. I love your blog Phoebe although it has made me ignore my kids even more this evening!
