Here is a recipe stolen from my good friend, Darlybird. I filched it from her new blog, but I have eaten these beans before and we enjoyed them again last night.
Refried beans
1 lb. dry Pinto Beans
5-6 cups water
1 tsp (ish) salt
1/2 tsp. Crushed red pepper
1/2 tsp. granualted garlic
Combine in crockpot and cook on high for a 4-5 hours or low for the entire day.
Mash them up and adjust spices if needed.
I used these to make bean and cheese burritos, which the boys love. You could have a burrito bar, a taco bar, nachos, use them for enchiladas or even burrito casserole (if you are a Terrill and even know what that is). The possibilities are endless.
Thanks Rachel!
PS I have had an inquiry about whether I take suggestions for Crockpot Wednesday.
Of course! I am always looking for a new dish to try. Email me the recipe and I will try it out.
