It's raining, it's pouring...

After a week of saying he didn't want to go anywhere on Friday night, he just wanted to hang out at home, David announced at 6 pm that I needed to be ready to go somewhere at 7 pm. So I changed my clothes, despite my confusion. I was even more confused when he sent me upstairs to the neighbor's house. Until I walked into a surprise baby shower from my sweet neighbors!
I have to admit, I was really surprised, and usually I can sniff out a surprise a week away. David and the neighbors did a great job of hiding it! I had a great time visiting with everyone and getting to know them better.
Which brings me to the other shower I had a few weeks ago from the wonderful gals that I do bookgroup and Girls' Night Out with. It was a divine pampering shower for myself and another friend who is due the week after me. We walked into the house, which had been transformed into a spa. They had hot tubs of water for us to soak our feet in and lavendar/rice heat things for our necks and then slippers for all of us to put on when we were done. We were relaxed and then ready to dig into the fondue! Instead of gifts, everyone had chipped in and gotten us gift certificates to a local spa for massages, facials, and pedicures. I can't wait to go!
I am feeling so spoiled. This is our third child and I am so happy that people seem to be just as excited for us as they did with our first. I am so grateful that everywhere we move, we seem to find the most wonderful friends. Lucky me.

Here are a few photos from the first shower. I was so surprised on Friday Evening that I didn't have my camera, or the sense to go downstairs to get it! It will remain undocumented.

Kim and myself. She is only due 1 week after me, so I guess that being short really does contribute to the size of the belly.
All the wonderful ladies.
Showing off our "one size fits all" slippers.
Lucky me, Sarah was here the weekend of the "Pampering Shower".

A pampering shower - what a great idea!

I was given a "surprise" shower with Harry - and I was so surprised - especially that Harry Dad let me out of the house looking so bad!

You do always find great friends Phoebe - probably because you are such a great friend!
