Calvin has taken to calling me Mama. I am not quite sure how I feel about this. It seems a little rustic to me.
What do you call your mother? What do your kids call you? If you don't have kids, what would you have your kids call you if you had them?

I've always called my mom "Mom" But Bella takes her pick of the following words of endearment for me : (I do LOVE it when she calls me Mama, Oh I do!!)
Hot Mama Drama
Mama
Woman
Candy Lady
You can take your pick :)
i call my mom "Mom", but my kids call me Mama. I absolutely love it. It sounds more respectful and loving to me. When I hear little kids say Mom, it makes them sound like teenagers, and i'm not ready for teenagers yet.
my husband is southern, and here everyone calls their mom Mama and their dad Daddy. Even when they're 32. :)
I'm a big fan of whenever anyone calls me Mama. Just ask my friends.
When my older kids were little they would call me mommy and mama.(so do my little ones now.) Then they called me mom. My older ones now call me mom, marmee, and mother, depending on who is saying it and what the occasion is.
I'm ok with all of this.
I love it when the little ones call me mommy or mama.
I guess I should answer all of your questions. I called my mother 'mom'. She signed everything 'the mom'.
i share your same sentiments about mama. rustic is a great word for it. estie has started calling me rachel, which i secretly adore. it's hilarious to me~! I call my mom mim (as in 'meem') or mom. my mom calls her mom 'mother.' i think that sounds a little stilted. i think i prefer mommy to mama. don't know why. it's cute, though, when kids just come up with their own things, ie calvo.
I call my mom "mom". Always have.
My kids call me Mama most of the time. Sometimes I get a Mommy or plain old Mom. But usually it's Mama.
I love it.
My husband still calls his mom "mama" My son calls me "mama". I think it's sweet. I don't like the high pitched "mommy" though. They usually want something that they can't have. I know to put on my game face when I hear that one!
I prefer mama a million times over. Mommy is way too easy to slip into whiny "mommmmmmyyyy" to me. My mom has been "mom" for as long as I can remember but I love being mama.
I call my mom Mom.
My kids call me mama.
I love it. Nate doesn't like it. He thinks it sounds kind of redneck.
But since it's my name, I haven't made them say it different. They only call me Mom when referring to me while they're talking to someone else.
I will have to notice what I call my mom - and what my kids call me. I think I call my mother "mom" or "mother" and I think my kids call me "mom" or "mother" but they also call me "Madre" and "Marmee" and "Moth---er" and "Jo Mama" sometimes!!
Olivia took to calling me "Jen" at Calvin's age, which I hated more than Mama, for sure, because it sounded like I was her step mom when she would say, "c'mon Dad and Jen." Now she calls me "Mom." And Max and Molly call me "Mommy," which I love.......
I think Mama sounds more affectionate. I agree with Leslie, Mom sounds like what your teenagers will call you.
I call my mom by mom and always have. Peter calls me Mom, but Ned calls me Jessi, which I'm just fine with. I'm sure he learned it from hearing Ryan call me Jessi. I think he would call me Mom if Ryan called me that, but if there's one thing I know I don't want to be called by my husband, it's Mom.
I like mom or mommy. McKay started calling me mama once and I didn't like it. Don't know why?
I call my girls " babes" even if it's just one of them.
Cruz is my bud.
I don't know how that came up either.
I think "mama" is ADORABLE, coming from a 3 year old. When he's a teenager, it may be a tad hill-billy.
I'm just plain old "mom" around here.
