Calvin has a friend over today and I was making them lunch. They couldn't decide on anything, so I got out carrrots, sliced apples, cheese, and crackers. While they were happily eating, I had a brief flashback 0f eating at Grandma Terrill's and enjoying a "Summer Lunch". I loved eating at Grandma's. I tried out exotic things such as eggplant, avocado, Ritz crackers, and cheese that wasn't orange and wrapped in cellophane. (No offense to Granny Babs, but she is the first to admit that she isn't an adventurous eater.) I love to make Hot Punch in the winter and every time I have a ginger snap I am transported to her pantry.
So here's to you, Grandma. Thank you for being fabulous.
*On an unrelated note, today Calvin is wearing pants that Henry wore only last year. And they fit just fine. How did he get so big?

We enjoy a summer lunch from time to time courtesy of Grandma Terrill.
I too loved her pantry. Ginger Snaps, veggie thins, wheat thins all yummers.
Grandma Terrill's pantry has always been a treat - since I've known her anyway and that's been over 41 years!
Summer lunches are just the ticket sometimes.
We are fans of the summer lunch at our house! There are certain foods I eat that always remind me of Grandma (ginger snaps being one of them). I have fond memories of eating dinner from TV trays while watching TV (the news?) with Grandma and Grandpa.
Fun memory! It seems that everyone else always had the more interesting pantry, the more exotic, unusual or tasty.
(Glad you liked the outfit!)
That is a great memory that I share with you. Ginger Snaps always take me back to Grandma's pantry, and all the love that is there in that house.
