It's Monday. According to FlyLady I should be doing a Home Blessing Hour. Unfortunately for me, I am too OCD to clean the entire house in one hour, so I have a Home Blessing Day. Since Sundays are the day of rest, Mondays are the day of stay-home-and get-stuff done.
I like stay in my PJ's and clean up the kitchen/dining room. Take a late shower and get dressed in I-don't-have-to-go anywhere-today clothes. Make the beds, clean up the toys, put stuff away, and wipe down the bathrooms. Then, while Agnes is napping, I like to watch Blue Crush or have a long chat with Sar and fold laundry. It's my day and I love it.
I don't want to go to any meetings, I don't want to be visit taught or go visiting teaching, I don't want to work in the classroom or go to OMSI (I can't anyway, they are smart and are closed Monday, as well), I don't want to run errands and go grocery shopping. I just want to be at home, let my kids take normal naps and be one with my house.
You are more than welcome to come over on Tuesday .

I'm not familiar with Fly Lady, but your Mondays sound great - I used to have a similar routine - but it was on Fridays - and then Dad and I went out.
This was waaay back - in the Centerville days.
Haven't had a restful Friday since!
Im hearin you Phoebe!!
okay - i will make sure to visit you on a tuesday - flights are cheapest that day.
I just changed out of my I-don't-have-to-go anywhere clothes into my jammies. I asked Chris which were hotter. My jammies are flannel you know. Anyway, I too love Mondays and always get so much done.
Here, here to Mondays!!
Amen.
I'm the opposite - but I like yours better. I go EVERYWHERE on Mondays. I try to get as many errands done on Monday as possible. Then I relax the rest of the week.
Well, about errands anyways. There's still the house and a million other things to do.
Fridays are my I'm-not-doing-anything-days. Although I will go to the park if the weather is nice (but it's easier to take care of my kids there so I don't mind.)
i clean on fridays also. it pretty much takes the entire day (since theo "helps" me) but so nice to have it sparkling when matt gets home, sparkling for the weekend, for babysitters or friends to be impressed. etc. :)
i noticed however that by monday it was usually a mess again and then monday was a catch-up day for me. finally i figured out that that was because i generally take the weekend off mentally, and having matt home with neither of us cleaning up after ourselves was a disaster. so i started being more conscious about keeping up and not shirking _all_ of my duties, and then we still had things nice for the sabbath day and the place wasn't in ruins by monday.
i love that you watch blue crush. how many times have you seen that? do you always look away when she hits her head on the rock, like i do?
I have to hit the ground running on monday. I usually look forward to thursday as the day I stay at home (mostly).
karen - i like that - "i have to hit the ground running" - i do to - as i usually work on mondays.
Bonny-you can come and visit ANY day. I'll rearange my Monday for you. Or you can just help me clean the house and fold laundry:)
I used to clean Fridays, but I was running into the same problem Eliza has. I do try to do a mini- clean on Saturday eve so Sunday isn't too crazy.
And Eliza, I am not sure how many times I have watched Blue Crush, but I can't watch the head hitting the rock scene.
Phoebe, I am with you. After the weekend, I definitely need a day to recoup. I don't know that I was as productve yesterday as you were as I am going right now to wipe down the bathroom. Miss you.
Next Tuesday I'll be there. And I'll even help fold laundry.
Blue Crush rocks! That makes any day better!
Monday sounds like a good idea. I usually did it on Friday and then into Saturday in case something didn't get done, but had the same problem with Sunday being too much of a "rest" day and the kids just going crazy with toys and such. I will try it. I love wearing PJ's all day or PJ like clothes. I have no idea what Blue Crush is, but I will check it out. I usually catch up on whatever TIVO taped for me over the weekend.
No Phoebe, you will stay true and faithful to Mondays as the one and only stay in day! Although I rather enjoy the idea of getting everything done on Monday, so then you have more of a relaxing week. Even so, Monday must remain sacred and I so enjoy our little chats!
