The week that was

Many of you know about my nearest and dearest, Sarah. We also refer to each other as "BestBest", the explanation of which is a post in and of itself. Sarah had a birthday yesterday. I won't tell you how old she is, but I will tell you that she is 6 months younger than I am.

A couple of years ago David sent me to SLC on a surprise visit for my birthday. We had so much fun a tradition was born. So every May Sarah comes out here for a visit and in October I go out there for a visit. It's great that our birthday are well spaced so we get to see each other regularly.

Sarah spent last week here with me and we enjoyed every minute of it. I am still recovering from the lack of sleep and the endless laughing, but it was well worth it. We shopped. At Wal-mart. Hadn't been there for a few years. I have a renewed love of the "Devil Store". Then we shopped at Anthropologie and on Northwest 23rd. I won't tell you which new items in my wardrobe are from which stores. I am trying to maintain some mystery.

We ate at Chili's and surprisingly enough it was warm enough to eat outside at 10 pm. Sarah brought some fabulous warm weather with her.
We went to a late movie and bought the hugest popcorn ever. We couldn't even make a dent in it. And she was game enough to accompany me on a Young Women's activity (of course, the 14-16 year old girls loved her). We went to Target, Nordstrom, Home Depot, Burgerville, 7-11, Church, the Spa for massages and for mani/pedi's. You may be noticing a trend here. I guess we really like eating and shopping. It felt a little bit like my birthday, too!
Thanks for coming Sarah, see you again in October.
And thank you David for being patient and long-suffering.

what a fabulous tradition!

And I envy you for having gone so long without shopping at Wal-Mart - I try, I really try, but without a Target, it is really hard. Maybe it will be easier in a few months - we are getting Costco.

Looks like heaps of fun. Good shopping, good friend, good laughs! What could be better.

I will need the anthro mystery unveiled however. Just show us the linings and stichings and let us guess which is which. I think wearing Walmart and anthro at the same time is just what the saying "moderation in all things" is all about.

Looks like fun!

I have those same earrings...the ones from Target that came in a twosome with orange studs. Very nice.

Do you like how I notice details like this?
