Calling in a favor

Hello fellow bloggers!
I hate to do this, but I need some help. Halloween is more than 2 weeks away, but the Fall Carnival is only one week away and I am behind. I need to get costumes finished! Normally I would have my dear David, go-to guy, helping me out, but unfortunately, in a fit of complete insanity, he VOLUNTEERED to be in charge of the blasted Carnival. So I thought to myself, who could I ask for some help in this department? Who do I know that loves to share with me, find great deals, frequent thrift stores and yard sales? And the answer came quickly. My friends out there in Blogland.
I need a Captain Hook hat and no one has them. Disney Store isn't even selling them this year which is so puzzling to me since they are selling the rest of the costume-whatever. I am looking for the one with a large white feather on it. Like this.

So if any of you have on that they are willing to lend or if you know how to get one, please let me know. I will happily pay for shipping and your troubles.
Thank you in advance, because I have confidence that you will come through for me. How's that for positive thinking?

BTW-David just informed me that I need to make some concessions and lower my standards in regards to the hat. He thinks that the Dollar Store one will work just fine, but I haven't gotten there, not yet anyway.

Hmmm....sorry I can't be more helpful, but I sympathize. I'm sure you've checked eBay...I looked there and there is quite the demand for Captain Hook hats, isn't there? Good luck!
I am still trying to figure out how to create a praying mantis costume!

You are going to laugh....I just spent $35 on Ebay to get that blasted hat! Pud is going to be Tinkerbell, Cal is Captain Hook and Jones is the Crocodile! It's a conspiracy I tell ya! They did this on purpose! That's why those darn costumes were on such good sell! What's even worse is that the sword and hook are now going for $24+shipping. Disney is the devil!

I do have the sword and hook, it's just the blasted hat!

Even if I could find a good plume. Where do I get one of those?

I'm not sure if you've seen the pictures of my sun hat from my brother's wedding? I made it, it kind of looks like a Captain Hook hat. It has wire in it so you could bend it. I have the pattern, maybe with purple velvet and a feather? I have no idea on a plume. Let me know if you wan the pattern or me to make one.

Good luck!

I don't know if you have pampas grass in Oregon, but that is what we used for the feather and just a hat from the thrift store. Keep up that great Halloween tradition!!! Sue Cornwall

For the plume, try a wedding pen. Don't they make those in cheesy feather?

Or try "Pimps-R-Us" for the hat. Booyah.

Thanks for all of the suggestions!
Jess, I would take you up on the offer, but I think we are too short on time.
Now I'm off to a couple more stops in hopes that I will hit the jackpot!

We have a brown leather hat that looks a little "indiana jonesish" that you are welcome to take a look at and try to stick a feather to. I know it is not what you are looking for, but I thought I would throw it out there. good luck!
