For Janelle

Now that David has proven his love and devotion by painting the entire living/dining/kitchen area, he can rest assured that I will be enjoying this friendly yellow all winter long. Color really does make a difference, especially up here in the land of darkness. It has been getting dark at 4:45 these days!

As for the artwork...most of it is courtesy of my parents. The leaded glass window is from a church in Ogden that my great-grandmother played the organ in when she was a child-or so the story goes. My brother took another of these windows and had it made into a front door for his home. It is amazing! If I was ever positive that we would be in the same place for more than a few years I would be very tempted to do the same thing.
The Chagall is on loan from the collection of Harry and Barb-as is the print on the left side. That one is by Jim Pritchard and it reminds me of Davis because of the double decker bus.
The Minervas in the middle were gifts. The top one is Christ in a Red Robe was a graduation gift from David-even though I still haven't graduated-and the bottom one was from my parents for my 30th birthday-Jesus at the home of Mary and Martha.

So there you have it. The small, but lovely art collection (most of which is borrowed) of Phoebe and David.

Sunset here: 4:20. Yep. I'd kill for 4:45. OH, and it was -13 this morning.

Thanks Phoebe!

I wish I had matted my Christ in the Red robe in green because I like yours better.

I love the bus. And the Chagall

I am dying for the Mary and Martha print too because I love that it shows Jesus teaching a woman. Actually that is why I love the NT so much because of the interaction of Christ with women. I want my girls to see that print often.

How did that lesson go?

I like how it looks. I love Minerva's Christ in the red robe.
