After spending the week getting ready for the Back to School BBQ (remind me to never be the PTA president or offer to be the volunteer coordinator), getting ready for preschool to start (remind me to never be president of the preschool again), playing soccer (remind me that I love to play soccer and that I should keep playing), watching my kids play soccer (or not play soccer) and surviving the first full week of school , I am giving myself a break. A break from the computer.
I am so sick of sending emails, responding to emails, begging people to volunteer through emails or just trying to get a response from emails that I have sent, that I never want to check my email again. Not that I really never want to check it, but more that I don't want to feel like I have to check it.
After Thursday might's BBQ is over and the first day of preschool has started, I will not check my email at all for a few days.
Except that I have to send a reminder about the Activities Committee meeting on Sunday....Ugh! I have a fear that it will never end.
Or ,maybe, just maybe, I will just make an actual phone call! That may surprise everyone into attendance, no?

Remember that there are those of us who wish our organizations would get on board with the electronic revolution.
Phoning over and over can get pretty old too.
But I understand your pain.
Perhaps you need to unload some responsibilities!! (This is your mother speaking!!)
ahhhhhh! the e-mail.
I don't think I have ever been e-mailed about a school/church event.
Wow! I think you should go on another vacation! Hopefully things will slow down (at least a little bit?) soon.
I much prefer to communicate by email instead of telephone. (It's that antisocial part of me!)
We missed you and the boys at our adoption weekend. Sounds like you have been super super busy. It was great to see Dave. Hopefully we'll see you all when you are in the neighborhood at Christmas.
Karen-Maybe I need to move to Idaho. I can't even remember the last time I wasn't emailed about a school/church event!
Maybe you need to learn to say no - and not be so talented that everyone keeps wanting you on board their organization!!
Unplug. It's good for the soul I say as I am currently glued to the online world ; )
Hey I got my first email about my church calling (building cord) I was shocked but that is a easy way to do my calling. Usually they just call me. I then I have to limp to the computer. Which at certain times of the day I just say no and I will call them back
Are you back in the office yet?
I am all about e-mail.
You might even say that I am 'bout it, 'bout it.
