So long Astoria

David and I were able to sneak away for a couple of days while my parents were here for Hood-to-Coast. It was quite a treat to celebrate out 11th(!) anniversary without children. David planned the whole weekend and it was so much fun. I never knew Astoria was such a great spot! We rode bikes, enjoyed the river front, saw the sea lions, sat in the hot tub, enjoyed our AMAZING hotel, ate too much junk food, cruised the shops and watched a TON of cable. Have I told you how much I love cable? I think I need to ask for a year of Cable for Christmas, I really miss it.
Anyway-here are a few shots from the trip. Can you believe the view from our room? We stayed at the Cannery Pier Hotel and every room is on the water. I sat in the huge claw foot tub and I could see the river and the TV. Could I ask for anything better? What can I say, I'm easy to please.
On Saturday we went down to Seaside and met up with my mom and the kids and then we went down and saw my dad's team finish the Hood-to-Coast relay. After the race we went to dinner with the Nebekars. Sometime I'll tell you about the awesome service that we got at McMenamins in Gearhart. All I can say is that they obviously weren't concerned about getting repeat customers.
It was a great way to spend the weekend. The only thing that could have made it better was if could have stopped myself from repeating over and over, "The only thing that could make this better would be to have 5 more days!" I am sure David was sick of hearing it, but you can't have everything! That is just one of the many things I have learned in 11 years of marriage.

After the cruse we went on two years ago, Jeff and I decided that 7 days wasn't enough either. We are thinking two weeks might be just right.(but of course, we have never been gone that long!)

Glad you had a nice time. It look beautiful
