Summer is here!
After much Pomp and Circumstance, school finally let out for the summer last week. It was a bittersweet time for us since our school is closing it's door after 50 years. Darn those budget cuts! We feel blessed that Henry was able to spend his entire elementary school time at the same school with great teachers and friends. We are also looking forward to attending a school that is actually closer than our last school was and our former principal is now working there.
With the school closing, the 6th graders are being bumped up into middle school, preciously our Junior High had just been 7th and 8th grades. So Henry had a small "promotion" ceremony the last week of school. I cannot believe that Henry is headed off to middle school next year!
I feel like time is slipping through my fingers, so I am determined to milk every last drop out of this summer. That beings said, we had to start things off on the right foot and great the kids at the bus stop with Popsicles, a banner and one very large balloon. After those festivities we headed off to a friends house and enjoyed our first lazy afternoon of Summer. It was a great day and only a glimpse of all the great things to come this summer!
