I woke up this morning with a rash.
On my face.
Of course it is on the most noticeable part of me. The hardest part to hide. And the part of me that I am somewhat vain about. Not my face as much as my skin. I never have skin problems. I think I am supposed to learn something from this rash.
Try finding a good Dermatologist that will see you on short notice. She must have just graduated last week or is being sued for malpractice, but I am willing to take the risk. I took the last available appointment tomorrow morning.
I took the Benadryl that was suggested. That really did nothing but help me fall asleep while playing with my children. My face is still puffy, red, and feels like I washed it with Ajax and then did not moisturize.
I am still going to book group tonight, despite my disfigurement.
I hope it isn't leprosy.

We NEED a picture. But I'm so sorry about the rash. And you do have great skin Phoebe so you should be vain about it. I hope it goes away soon!
That is pretty hard to believe Phoebe, since you have the most beautiful skin I have ever seen. Are you allergic to something? Maybe a GNO would take the rash away....
you are still beautiful...you cheeks were extra nice and rosy, I think you rocked it!
If it's any consolation, I had poison oak on my face on the day that Austin and I, as YSAs, went on a temple trip together with a group, just before we started dating. I felt so ugly, I decided not to wear my contacts (you know, kind of the whole if-I-can't-see-you-maybe-you-can't-see-me idea...). Austin claims not to have noticed (yeah right, how could you miss that?!) and spent the entire ride trying to make me laugh. I hope it goes away soon, whatever it is. It sounds painful.
Oh Phoebe, skin woes, especially on the face are awlful. I'm sorry.
I loved your analogy of Ajax and no moisturizer. Ouch!
And hey, maybe you will absolutely adore your 'new' dermatologist.
ouch - i'm sure it will go away soon - you have great skin - hopefully it's just having a bad day.
I feel for you, friend! Hoping it all goes away soon.
Good luck doing battle with your rash. It's tough to have to take a sucker-punch to your vanity, I know. I have this crop circle thing that happens in my hair and it really gets me where it hurts. Praying you find a simple treatment . . . .
Oh no. I am sorry. Having had pretty decent skin for the past 5 years or so (knock on wood), I can still remember the sting of a red, irritated face. It's hard on the skin and hard on the pride. If it helps at all, I would much rather have a short-term face rash as an adult than long-term acne in high school! But bad skin is never fun.
P.S. I am sure it looks better than you think it does. Good luck with the dermy.
Yuck. I hope you are able to get it cleared up right away!
I hate it when skin does weird things. This reminds me, I have to call the doc about one of my kids- she is having some weird rash on her neck.
This blog post didn't show up until this afternoon - when both of them showed up - or I would have expressed my sympathy earlier!
