painful confession, i not only like, but also own that dixie chicks song. But my favorite on the album is "top of the world" although i am unsure what it is about. First off, the male / female split: lead singer is singing about her wife, and though the chicks give the finger to george bush, i doubt they are venturing into two mommies territory. second, there is singing that is not going to be heard because a bird gets its wings broke off? Who says country stars don't do acid?

This is Katie, Eliza's friend, and when I was at one of their concerts they said that "Top of the World" is about the writer's grandfather who got to the end of his life and didn't have much to look back on. He wished he had lived his life differently. He didn't want it to be longer just different. He wished he had told people how he felt and not kept all of his feelings inside. Not sure if that makes more sense.
Anyways, Pheobe, your kids are SO cute. Congratulations on your new baby.

I too am a fan of that song. That is probably one of my favorite albums from them. I think I'll turn on a little Dixie Chicks now.
